Yeast Fungal Infection Treatment Options
Candida Albicans, a yeast fungus naturally found in the bod,y is usually kept at bay by good bacteria. A population boom can cause a yeast infection, but this only occurs when conditions are just right. That means overusing certain antibiotics that destroy the protector bacteria in your body, or if you have a weakened immune system following a strong illness, poor nutrition, hormonal changes such as during menstruation, or during pregnancy can lead to an increase in this bacteria. This is when a yeast fungal infection occurs.
People typically link yeast infections to women. This is often true, because women do have a higher likelihood of being affected by a yeast fungal infection. This particular infection is referred to as a vaginal yeast infection. Aside from the causes mentioned previously, it is possible for women to get a vaginal yeast infection if there is injury or damage to the inside of vagina, following the use of cortisone medication or while taking oral contraceptives. While Candida is not a sexually transmitted disease, it is possible for men to develop irritations of the skin surrounding the penis after a sexual encounter with a partner who has a yeast fungal infection.
If a woman experiences a yeast fungal infection, she may experience some of these common symptoms: itching of the vagina and vulva, a burning and sore sensation, abnormally thick discharge (usually it has no odor or color; however, it may appear in shades from white to green with a smell resembling beer), painful urination, intercourse, and menstruation.
Men can also experience yeast infections. Their symptoms are similar to those of women and include painful urination and intercourse, inflamed glands and spots resembling ulcers, and intense itching.
Anyone might experience some general yeast fungal infection symptoms, regardless of their gender. These symptoms occur in conjunction with any of the symptoms discussed above. You may experience nausea, fatigue, headaches, lack of energy, and dizziness. You may also have gas and mood swings.
Many people would prefer not to talk openly about a yeast fungal infection. In fact, that’s probably why you’re reading this article. Candida is not a sexually transmitted disease, though it can be transferred during sexual intercourse with a person who has a yeast infection. Many people feel that there is a stigma placed upon them if they reveal their yeast infection. Fortunately, this isn’t a serious illness and can be treated quite easily.
When you first notice symptoms of a yeast fungal infection, you should immediately visit your doctor for a diagnosis and treatment options. You should not postpone speaking to your doctor because of embarrassment; this only delays your swift treatment of the fungal yeast infection.
